Practical Advice - I am currently reading this book and find the insights very practical. Harley points out that from his years of practice, there are 10 points of friction that turn up over and over again that may lead people to look to people other than their partner for their resolution. He lists those ten points and presents the five most common points that either men or women mention that provide friction in marriage and possible solutions for each. This book should be viewed as a practical manual for communication within marriages or relationships. Some partners are receptive to communication by words and others by action. If each partner continuously looks for ways to affirm their commitment to the other partner in ways that are meaningful to that partner, any relationship will be long lasting. This book should not be viewed as a panacea or that the items presented are the only things that are really important for a successful relationship. It is simply a practical starting point.

Highly Recommend this Book! - This is an easy to read book explaining the five basic needs of both men and women - based on the author's counseling experience. I found it to be accurate in most situations. Since reading this book it is extremely easy to see why many marriages fail. If we aren't meeting our spouse's basic needs, someone else will. He points out that people don't wake up and say, "I think I'll start having an affair today." The temptation to be drawn to someone other than one's spouse is often very subtle and begins innocently. This book makes it clear how to avoid that from happening. It also has a chapter on how to stay married even if adultery does happen.
My husband is a pastor and we often do marital counseling together. This book and "The Act of Marriage" are two we often recommend.

ABSOLUTELY WILL SAVE YOUR MARRIAGE - This book describes what YOU need to do, youve been looking, well, you may not like what you read, but it is absolutely fool-proof to give you back your marriage and your life! You MUST couple it with the LOVE BUSTERS book so you can start the NEW YOU, and simultaneouly destroy the OLD YOU that brought your world crashing in. I cant tell you about humility, but if you consider this a virture, then I dare you take on this outrageously simple advice, it will be your MOST difficult assignment ever! If you have children, you cannot afford to NOT buy this book. Best of luck!
