Fatal Flaw - I was really interested in adopting this text for my Family Systems course, until I read the sections on "Feminist Family Therapy" and "Family Violence." It's shocking to discover that there are still talented, well intentioned family therapist who believe that "Domestic Violence -let's call it what it is, wife battering and child beating..." (8th Ed. page 312)

broken bindings, within two weeks - when I received this textbook I thought it was a little odd, leaning to one side slightly, but couldn't see any particular damage. However, now that I have studied up to page 100 in the first weeks of class, I realize that the bindings are busted, front and back. This is very dissapointing, especially since I have many pages to go, and hope to have the book as a resource for years. It is already "mine" since I have highlighted and underlined freely and often. I am actually careful with books as well, so this one just arrived in bad shape (even though it was new). Too bad
