Description: Personal and professional coaching, which has emerged as a powerful career in the last several years, has shifted the paradigm of how people who seek help with life transitions find a "helper" to partner with them in designing their desired future. No matter what kind of sub-specialty a coach might have, life coaching is the basic operating system: a whole-person, client-centered approach. Here, Pat Williams, who has been a leader in the life coaching movement, has co-authored another essential book for therapists working as coaches. Becoming a Professional Life Coach draws on the wisdom of years of collective experience that have gone into designing the curriculum for the Institute for Life Coach Training. This curriculum has trained therapists and psychologists around the world to add coaching to their current businesses. This book presents the essential elements of life coach training program in a content-rich form that is equivalent to a graduate-level education in the field. .

Customer Review: 5 out of 5 Excellent book - This is an excellent book for anyone transitioning from a helping profession to life coach. The book really focuses on those in a therapy line of work however is brings it around to many helping profession such as mentoring and consulting as well. Anyone considering going into the coach field should read this book. There are a good bit of spelling and grammar mistakes through out the book which was surprising when compared to how rich the content is.

As I went through, each and every line of it made so much sense to me that I didn't have to wait till I finish. I knew this is what my next destination is. I didn't have a doubt anymore, I quit my high tech job and started my new journey of a Life Coach. My heartfelt thanks to the authors to help me in such a crucial time of my life. The book is very well written.
Customer Review: 5 out of 5 Excellent Resource for Coaching Professionals - As one who knew little about the coaching profession before reading this book, Williams and Menendez do a great job over viewing the history of coaching. The book equips both experienced and beginning coaches with helpful tools that are easily transferable to coaching sessions. Part III of the book, Coaching From The Inside Out, challenges the reader to make needed changes in their own life so they can genuinely "walk the talk" of life coaching. I have used the exercises and tables in this section with clients in helping them design the life they've always wanted.
Customer Review: 5 out of 5 Packed with great information - I bought this book to augment my knowledge in coaching. It has given me greater perspective of what I can do differently, as if I had a coach right next to me.
If you're starting out or just showing an interest in coaching, this book is most certainly a must-read! And even if you are an existing coach, this is a great read, because as you know, it's always a good idea to have continuing education. This is truly a fantastic book.
