A comprehensive Review - I am preparing to take the NCE this fall using this book. It provides a great review of ALL the important concepts in counseling and some more. There are practice questions accompanied with explanations for the correct as well as incorrect responses. I feel more confident having this book as a study guide. I recommend it!!

This book was some what helpful... - This book was very helpful as a review tool, however, the questions on the test are written so poorly that it is nearly impossible to use Rosenthal's book to pass the exam. I passed using common sense and a little bit of guessing. The questions are written so badly that you have a difficult time understanding what is expected. I STILL RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AS A STUDY TOOL FOR LEARNING THINGS RELATED TO COUNSELING - BUT DO NOT EXPECT THE TEST TO BE A CLEAR AS THIS STUDY GUIDE. I passed the NCE on July 6, 2010 and I still have anxiety thinking about the way in which the test questions read.

YOU NEED TO BUY THIS BOOK FOR THE CPCE!! - this book is amazing. i used it for the CPCE and got a 106. a lot of my other classmates used it and really enjoyed it. i would recommend getting it AT LEAST 2 months before the test so you can get through it and review it thoroughly. my school didnt know about the book, but since i introduced them to it they have ordered 10 copies of it to keep on reserve at the library. it is money well spent!
