Pretty good - I received this textbook rather quickly. The overall content of the book is pretty good, however I find the short stories that thread throughout the entire chapter annoying at times, but I'm sure some people enjoy it. The side articles, statistics and information aside from the regular text on the pages is interesting.

Great Book! - Beautiful book! It is just beautiful! I love it. Written well, great examples, and the chapter reviews on the book website are saving my butt. They have quizes and crossword puzzles for each chapter (and more) to help you learn all the information in the chapter. Thank you so much! I was a graphic designer for years and years and I have to give some big props to the layout and design of the content of this book. Great job! I just love it.

Worst textbook period - Over edited, dry as a bone and just scatterbrained. Topics are in 2 sometimes 3 places so it's hard as heck to pin down what Comer is saying. Far as I'm concerned its just padding to fluff up this monster of a book. It's only about 400 pages but he rehashes so much that it comes out to be 587 and with over 100 pages of references, seriously. Its almost as thick as the actual book his reference section. He should just give up on the 10th edition and start from scratch. Actually he shouldn't write another textbook.

Another thing is it's practically unreadable, so incredibly BORING...and he manages to go into no depth while being boring. Waaay too many damn graphics and annoying little facts that have nothing to do with the subject. He introduces topics and gives a sentence or two and moves on to another 10 different ideas and the next 5 chapters he will rehash the same information again without giving anymore info, really annoying.

Fluff as I stated, and do you like the way I rehashed what I stated in the first paragraph? Well, got that from this book. I have other psychology textbooks that are soo engrossing its like reading a bestseller...this thing is like reading the ingredients on the back of a soup can label. HATE THIS BOOK! Of course thats my opinion.

Finally, a good textbook! - I rarely keep my textbooks. I thrive off those few dollars the bookstore shoves at you at the end of the semester just to get rid of the things. But this is one I have kept in my library. It's a great introduction to psychological disorders. It's easy to read & has a great flow to it. I actually read this book. Who reads their entire textbook? Honestly? I've encountered many texts that were basically impossible to read - too boring, too complicated, etc. I've had friends over (non-psych students) that have flipped through it more than once because it's truly interesting to read! If your instructor has assigned the book - congrats! If you are just interested in purchasing for your own entertainment - go for it (if you're into buying textbooks, that is)!

easy to read - was intersting and informative but felt it went into too much history of psychology for me.
